Nug&Carol Design Studio Policies & Terms

Welcome to Nug&Carol Design! We are a Christ-centered creative studio located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, family-friendly environment where creativity, community, and faith come together. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests, please review the following policies before purchasing tickets, attending workshops, shopping in our studio, or participating in any event.


Our Studio Values

At Nug&Carol Design, we strive to create an atmosphere where every guest feels welcome, respected, and encouraged.

We ask all visitors to:

  • Treat fellow guests and staff with kindness and respect.

  • Help maintain a family-friendly environment.

  • Follow all staff instructions regarding safety and studio procedures.

  • Respect studio equipment, artwork, and retail merchandise.

  • Be considerate of others so everyone can enjoy their creative experience.

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any guest whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise interferes with the experience of others.


Ticket Purchases

Workshop tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

A reservation is confirmed only after payment has been successfully processed.

Prices are listed in U.S. Dollars. Sales tax and applicable processing fees may be added during checkout.

Tickets are valid only for the specific event purchased unless transferred or rescheduled according to these policies.


Workshop Attendance

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled workshop.

This allows time for check-in, selecting your seat, and preparing materials.

To minimize disruptions, guests arriving more than 20 minutes after the scheduled start time may not be permitted to participate.

No refunds will be issued for late arrivals.


Cancellation, Transfers & Refunds

Workshop materials are purchased and prepared specifically for registered participants.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Workshop tickets are non-refundable.

  • Requests to transfer to another workshop or receive studio credit must be made at least 72 hours before the scheduled event.

  • Transfers are subject to availability.

  • No refunds or credits are available for missed workshops or no-shows.

If Nug&Carol Design cancels a workshop due to weather, instructor illness, low enrollment, facility issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, guests will receive either:

  • a full refund,

  • a transfer to another workshop, or

  • studio credit.


Participant Agreement & Assumption of Risk

Participation in creative activities is voluntary.

Activities may include painting, crafting, sewing, decorating, slime making, woodworking, jewelry making, textile projects, and other DIY experiences.

By participating, guests acknowledge that creative activities involve ordinary risks, including but not limited to:

  • Paint spills

  • Glue exposure

  • Minor cuts or scrapes

  • Hot glue burns

  • Allergic reactions

  • Slips or falls

  • Damage to clothing or personal belongings

Guests voluntarily assume these ordinary risks.

To the fullest extent permitted by Tennessee law, participants release Nug&Carol Design, its owners, employees, volunteers, contractors, and instructors from claims arising out of ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, or intentional misconduct.


Health & Allergies

Our workshops may involve products containing:

  • Acrylic paint

  • Adhesives

  • Glitter

  • Resin (select workshops)

  • Latex-containing products

  • Cleaning products

  • Fragrances

  • Wood products

Light refreshments may occasionally be served and may contain common food allergens.

Guests are responsible for informing staff of any allergies or medical concerns before participating.


Clothing & Personal Property

Creative activities can be messy.

Please wear clothing that may safely come into contact with paint or other art materials.

Aprons may be provided but are not guaranteed.

Nug&Carol Design is not responsible for damage to clothing, shoes, jewelry, phones, electronics, vehicles, or other personal belongings.


Children & Supervision

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their children during the event.

  • Children should remain within designated activity areas unless accompanied by an adult.

Certain workshops may have age requirements due to tools or materials used.


Food & Beverage

Outside food and beverages may be permitted for designated private events with prior approval.

Alcohol is only permitted when specifically authorized by Nug&Carol Design and must comply with all applicable laws. Guests are expected to drink responsibly. Anyone who appears intoxicated or behaves unsafely may be refused participation or asked to leave without a refund.

Guests are responsible for cleaning up food and beverages brought into the studio.


Photography & Video

Photographs and video may be taken during workshops and events.

By attending, guests grant Nug&Carol Design permission to use photographs and video for marketing, advertising, website content, and social media without additional compensation.

Guests who prefer not to appear in photographs should notify staff before the event begins.


Parking & Premises

Parking is limited during normal business hours.

Guests should park only in designated parking areas and remain courteous to neighboring businesses.

Additional parking may be available as directed by staff.

Some parking locations may require walking along sidewalks, streets, or designated pathways.

Guests use these walking routes and parking areas at their own risk.

Nug&Carol Design is not responsible for accidents, theft, damage, or injuries occurring in parking areas not owned or controlled by the studio.


Open Craft Bar Policies

Materials provided during open craft sessions are intended for use during your scheduled visit.

Guests may use only the supplies included with their selected project unless an upgrade is purchased.

Please respect shared supplies and equipment so all guests can enjoy the experience.

Intentional misuse or damage may result in additional charges.


Studio Equipment

Studio equipment, tools, furniture, and décor remain the property of Nug&Carol Design.

Guests are expected to use equipment responsibly.

Damage caused by intentional misuse or reckless behavior may result in repair or replacement charges.


Retail Merchandise

Retail merchandise may be subject to separate return and exchange policies posted in-store or online.

Custom, personalized, made-to-order, digital, edible, and clearance items are generally non-returnable unless required by law or due to our error.


Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law.

Lost or stolen gift cards may not be replaceable.


Intellectual Property

All artwork, workshop designs, templates, instructional materials, logos, branding, photographs, videos, and written content remain the intellectual property of Nug&Carol Design.

They may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, or used commercially without prior written permission.


Accessibility

We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for all guests.

If you require reasonable accommodations to participate in a workshop, please contact us before your scheduled event so we can discuss available options.


Service Animals

Service animals are welcome in accordance with applicable law.

For the comfort and safety of all guests, pets and emotional support animals may not be permitted unless otherwise required by law.


Emergency Situations

Guests agree to follow staff instructions during emergencies, including fire alarms, severe weather, medical emergencies, or evacuation procedures.

Emergency medical assistance may be requested if staff reasonably believe someone requires immediate care.


Force Majeure

Nug&Carol Design shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, utility outages, government actions, labor disputes, public health emergencies, or other unforeseen events.


Governing Law

These Studio Policies & Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee.

If any provision is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Agreement

By purchasing tickets, registering for workshops, entering the studio, participating in activities, or making purchases from Nug&Carol Design, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Studio Policies & Terms, including the Participant Agreement, Liability Waiver, Ticket Purchase Terms, and any additional policies posted in the studio or on our website.
